Bo Wiley - Poet

Bo Wiley grew up in North Carolina.  At age 10 after the death of her mother she started to experiment with poetry as a way to cope with her loss.  Bo’s father took on full time duties and encouraged Bo to use her art as a way out of the painful feelings she experienced.  It wasn’t until college that Bo discovered “Spoken Word”.  After proving herself on campus Bo was then invited to “spit’ alongside and be mentored by the world ranked SLAM Charlotte Poetry team.    During that time Bo released 2 books and a poetry album entitled “Socially Unacceptable”.

 After graduation Bo toured the United States performing spoken word and teaching poetry workshops.  One poem in particular “Hazel Brown Eyes” got Bo noticed by talent agencies and she was soon signed to an acting and modeling contract with agencies in NYC and California.  Even though Bo loved the acting scene her heart remained loyal to spoken word and the powerful art she created.  Bo’s work can be described as unapologetically honest and compassionate.  Whether her work is about social injustices or emotional hardships Bo’s art does not disappoint.
